Gas Chromatography
Gas chromatography (GC) is a separation method that allows a mixture to be broken down into different components. It is important to choose the right carrier gas - the most common are Hydrogen, Helium, Argon, Nitrogen and Air - with the right level of purity. This way you get accurate and consistent measurement results.
Carrier Gas
Inert gases used to carry analysis samples, also known as mobile phaseCarrier gases are used in FID, TCD, ECD, NPD, AED, PID etc.

Gas Spectroscopy and Spectrometry
Spectrometry examines the wavelengths of photons emitted by atoms or molecules as they transition from an excited state to a lower energy state. We pride our selves in supporting:
- Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) — also known as Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) or Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES)
- Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy
- Ultraviolet (UV) and Infrared (IF) Gas Spectroscopy
Emission Control
Shipping industries, carmakers and heavy industries are regulated worldwide to carefully monitor and manage the release of carbon emissions and pollutants such as Sulfur Oxides and Nitrous Oxides into the atmosphere.
We offer specialised products and services for ambient air monitoring, emissions testing and emission control for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Greenhouse Gases (GHG).
Stable Isotope Analysis
The ratios between stable isotopes in the same element form a kind of fingerprint. This makes it possible to trace the origin of foodstuffs and medicines among other applications. The technology is also useful for atmospheric measurements of greenhouse gases or for geochemical measurements to optimise oil and gas drilling.
Air Liquide's ALPHAGAZ™ reference gases provide you with a traceable and specific stable isotope fingerprint in a single gas (eg CO2 or CH4) or in a composite gas mixture that may contain multiple components.
These gases allow the user to reliably measure the concentration of the stable isotope relative to the concentration of the element's most common stable isotope (delta values). The gases are available in different cylinder sizes and are suitable for different research applications.
